Lithology and Thickness
Clayey limestone. The Arpapaat suite consists of red, purple, green, and yellow-gray clay slates, claystones, sandstones, and gravelites with layers of small gravel conglomerates, limestones, marls, and dolomites. To the east of the territory (on the right bank of the Aksu River), the Arpapaat suite contains a layer of diorite porphyrites. The thickness of the Arpapaat suite is 200-500 m.
The correlated Arpapayatsky suite, арпапаятской свите also apparently includes gravels, conglomerates, and sandstones with limestone lenses underlying the Jivetsky dolomites on the right bank of the Isfara River in the Maidan area.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
It lies with basal conglomerates and angular unconformity on the rocks of the Kyzykin Fm
Upper contact
It is covered by dolomites of the Devonian period.
Regional extent
In the described area, it is spread in the interfluve of the Altikol-Dakatsu. This complex allows correlation of the Arpapayatsky suite with the Prague and Zlichovsky deposits of Czechoslovakia.
